As an outsider, I am always impressed by simple behaviors that usually do not occur in my native country, one of the first situations that caught my attention when I moved to Shanghai was one of the people sleeping or napping everywhere. So, this cover for The Shanghairen is a tribute to the migrant workers that head to the big city where there are factory jobs, thousand of construction sites, and large public works projects. Arriving by bus and by train, with the possessions crammed into red or blue plaid nylon sacks. In the cities they live in shantytowns, dormitories, or public spaces--or sometimes right on the sidewalk.
